What is the purpose of the study?
The purpose of this study is to identify, evaluate, and recommend feasible alternative routes for heavy truck traffic traveling through Ravena and Coeymans.
Currently, trucks primarily use Main Street (NY Route 143). The study is exploring whether alternative routes are viable and what potential impacts those options may have on traffic, safety, the environment, and the community.

● Develop and assess route alternatives that reduce heavy truck traffic through Main Street in the Town of Coeymans.● Evaluate potential roadway, environmental, operational, and community impacts of each alternative.● Recommend a preferred routing strategy and potential infrastructure or operational improvements to support implementation.

what is the study area?
The study area will encompass the Port of Coeymans and all feasible connecting roadway corridors excluding NY Route 143 (Main Street). The study area may include:● Local, State and County roadways in the Town of Coeymans● Potential new or improved connections within industrial or port-related properties● Adjacent corridors providing access to NYS Route 9W or other regional facilities
